Vegas Strip, Post-COVID: What'll Change?

Don’t expect The Strip to be the same as you remember it once quarantine lifts.

That’s what writer Richard N. Velotta reports in his latest article in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. While casinos will be among the first businesses to reopen, the specifics around what will change can only be guessed at due to each state having its own contingency plan for reopening.

Velotta adds that Vegas will likely have more open tables on the gambling floor to accommodate social distancing, closed buffets and poker rooms, an increase in electronic table games, and canceled in-house entertainment and artist residencies.

It’s true that all of the above are big reasons why roughly 50 million people visit Las Vegas annually, but industry professionals are optimistic about the potential to reinvent the city in the face of changing times.

In fact, it wasn’t that long ago that Vegas was also called “Sin City” for its gambling scene. But today, Vegas has left that identity far behind and reinvented itself as both a legendary casino spot and one of the most popular non-gaming business and leisure destinations in the world.

We’re no stranger to the new Las Vegas, and our Meetings & Incentives team will be watching how The Strip emerges from COVID-19 stronger and more economically diverse than ever before.

Once travel restrictions lift, see us at Morley if you'd like to know how we can make your Vegas vacation unique and memorable for all of your group members or participants.
