Gaylord Hotels reopened three of its luxury properties on June 25, marking a return to form for one of the most recognizable names in the hotel business.
These three Marriott-owned properties (Gaylord Rockies in Colorado, Gaylord Palms in Florida and Gaylord Opryland in Tennessee), as well as the recently opened Gaylord Texan, are setting industry-leading standards for other hotel brands to follow.
Here’s what they did:
- Marriott’s newly implemented “Commitment to Clean” protocols (reviewable here) mean its hotels have a strict policy on keeping properties virus-free that is visible to the public.
- Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc., the parent company who owns Gaylord Hotels, has partnered with Vanderbilt University Medical Center as its wellness advisor. This sends a clear message to all guests that the hotel isn’t just winging it with their health.
- Each property features over 400,000 square feet of meeting space. Gaylord Hotels goes an extra step by announcing its intention to complement social distancing with live streaming, contactless forms of meeting technology and an overhaul in meeting setup.
- Gaylord Hotels markets itself as an “everything in one place” destination, and it’s heavily promoting activities for all ages that keep guests outside, active and socially distanced.
