Expected to open in early 2020, it would be the largest waterfront resort of its type in Florida.

Current plans for the Sunseeker Resort by Allegiant Travel Company calls for construction of 500 hotel rooms on 25 acres in Port Charlotte, Florida. Meeting space plans include an approximately 45,000-square-foot facility (vehicle accessibility TBD) surrounded by a waterfront boardwalk, park and restaurants. A local championship golf course and 1,000-foot-long resort pool will round out the development.

Details about Sunseeker Resort:

Tampa, Orlando and Sarasota airports all within a 2½-hour drive of Port Charlotte

Across the river from Punta Gorda and halfway between Sarasota and Fort Myers

Will span both sides of U.S. 41 in Port Charlotte
