The Unbound Collection by Hyatt prides itself on offering guests unique properties around the world. Now, the new Mar Monte Hotel joins its ranks with a distinct, historic California coastal vibe.

Hotel historians may remember Mar Monte Hotel’s previous incarnation as Vista Mar Monte, a 1930s property nestled between mountains and oceanfront serving as both a pinnacle of luxury and a celebration of Spanish colonial revival architecture. That same spirit was preserved in Hyatt’s latest renovations, finished just in time for the country to emerge from quarantine.

In addition to preserving the timeless mountain and ocean views that made Vista Mar Monte a getaway must, Mar Monte Hotel embraced contemporary influence from its surroundings in Santa Barbara. Airy, bright white walls, exposed beam ceilings and arches, and terracotta tiled flooring mix old style with new, and all 200 guestrooms have been updated with this same attention to detail. Also available is the Palmoro House, a standalone retreat housing 24 guestrooms and available for buyout.

Mar Monte Hotel also features 15,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, with your choice of oceanfront views, beach venues and indoor/outdoor locations. The two dining destinations on the property, Costa and Café Lido, both showcase Italian, Eastern Mediterranean and Californian fusion cuisine. And while COVID-19 has prevented all facilities from opening up, Mar Monte Hotel also houses a wellness program that emphasizes connection with the local culture and community.
